10月に行われたIMBA（International Mountain Bike Association）が主催する「レベル3 上級スキルインストラクター講習会」に参加しました。初開催となったIMBAの上級者講習会へ招待されたことはラッキーなことです。
私のMTBに携わるキャリアにおいて、これはMTBについて学ぶ最良のプログラムです。数年前、私がはじめて受講したとき、当時はCMIC（Canadian Mountain bike Instructors Certification）として知られていましたが、私はプロレーサーとして活動していました。しかし、この4日間の講習で学んだことは、当時すでに16年間となっていたプロキャリアで得たものを凌駕しました。その時、この素晴らしいコーチング法を広めるべきだと確信したのです。「Sweet Riders」を設立し、講習で学んだコーチング法の実践を始めました。日本でもICPレベルの講習会が開催されるなど、ここ数年の組織的な変更がありましたが、このコーチング法とともに私は常に自身をアップグレードし続けています。
In my mountain biking career this program has been the best mountain bike learning experience so far. Several years ago, when I first took this course, at that time known as the CMIC (Canadian Mountain Bike Instructors Certification), I had already been racing professionally for 16 years. This course at that time was a four day intensive course. I learned more in that 4 days than I had learned in my whole 16 years of mountain bike racing. I knew at that point I had to spread this wonderful teaching/coaching methodology. That is why I started my own company Sweet Riders. I have been using the same methodology all of this time. I have been continuing to upgrade with the program through all of its structural changes in the recent years as well, including running two ICP level programs in Japan for the first time ever.
初開催となるレベル3 上級スキルインストラクター講習会の受講者6名のひとりとしての招待に、私は飛びつきました。この資格を得たことは本当にうれしいです。MTBインストラクター／ガイドとして将来を真剣に考えている方には、非常に優れたこの講習の受講をお勧めします。
